Christian Ineichen, MSc, is a PhD student in the field of deep brain stimulation at the Institute of Biomedical Ethics at the Univeristy of Zurich. April 2010 – 2011 completion of Master thesis as a neurobiology student at the Clinic for Affective Disorders and General Psychiatry, Psychiatric University Hospital Zurich (Preclinical Laboratory for Translational Research into Affective Disorders PLaTRAD) which led to a M.Sc. in Biology in Neurosciences at the University of Zurich. Besides that, concomitant studies in philosophy at the University of Zurich and a minor in Biochemistry. Since 2011, Ph.D. student at the IBME.
During my PhD, my fields of interests include the intersection of Neurology/Neurobiology and Psychiatry, Philosophy of Psychiatry, empirical Ethics, neuroethics and neural basis of moral cognition, neural moral judgement and moral behavior. Simultaneously, I‘m involved in the international PhD Program in Neuroscience, ZNZ, at the UZH/ETH Zurich. I currently work on deep brain stimulation (expert attitudes, dbs-center development, personality/affective changes and translational experimental research (patients and rodents), the establishment of a tool for measuring moral sensibility and moral values.
