IBME Lunch Series "Ethics in Neonatology"

In cooperation with the Clinic of Neonatology at the University of Zurich and the Institute Dialog Ethik the IBME and its PhD-Program for Biomedical Ethics an Law/medical track is presenting a lunch seminar with John Lantos.

John Lantos is a board-certified pediatrician and nationally-known ethicist and the Director of the Children's Mercy Bioethics Center (CMBC). Dr. Lantos spent 21 years at the University of Chicago, most recently as Professor of Pediatrics and the Associate Chair for Academic Affairs. After two years as the John B. Francis Chair in Bioethics at the Center for Practical Bioethics, he came to Children’s Mercy to start the CMBC. He received his M.D. from the University of Pittsburgh and completed his residency in pediatrics at Children’s Hospital National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He completed a fellowship in clinical medical ethics at the University of Chicago. He has served as president of the American Society of Law, Medicine and Ethics and the American Society of Bioethics and Humanities. He has written or edited five books and has published more than 250 journal articles and book chapters.
